MADE THEM PUREstates of containment

Made Them Pure is about vulnerability. It treats the body as a structure shaped by containment. Its anatomy carries inner tensions. It fundamentally asks how much the body can hold before it breaks and what exactly happens inside that rupture. The materials look solid, but are fragile and brittle and need constant repair. The moment of breach is also the point of relief. The forms occupy the space between healing and collapse.

ICON CYCLE – the abscent female

The Icon Cycle relates to the subject of containment from the perspective of womanhood. It works with the figure of the absent woman. Breasts often recur as forms of longing. They appear as sites onto which ideals are placed and fixed. The series reflects on archetypes and the legacy of religious icon paintings, in which the woman’s image has been historically narrowed.
